Philadelphia,
PA – October 30, 2004
eleven eleven has released their fourth record
(10/12/04) to elevated expectations grabbing 120 radio adds in the first week
of airplay. The Unlovable EP was recorded this past spring/summer and is the
second release on the band’s co-founders, Jeff Giuliani and Rich Franchetta’s,
own independent label, Forever Records Inc.
The group is planning a January 2005 national tour to support its full
length March 2004 release Head.
The Unlovable EP showcases both the popular
radio and the indie non-commercial sides of eleven eleven while following an
Indie / Brit-pop musical style format.
Released on October 12th, 2004, the six song EP begins with
inspirational hints of The Cure while also recalling the late 80s New Order
with singing guitar melodies alongside floating vocals. “eleven
eleven sings depressing songs with a great English pop-rock structure.” (Nick Lombardo – Delusions of Adequacy
Magazine) This melodic
format continues on tracks three and four then shifts gears to find writer
Giuliani layering synth lines over flanged arpeggios mixed heavily in reverb on
the last two tracks. The last track is
quoted as a “My Bloody Valentine layer-fest” of watery guitars and reversed
vocals. eleven eleven seems to be
borrowing from the past only to empower themselves into discovering something
musically fresh and different. The Unlovable EP grasped 120 radio adds
in its first week of airplay which included 34 CMJ (College Music Journal) adds
putting them at number #17 in the nation on the CMJ chart just behind R.E.M.,
Cake, and Elliott Smith. The EP is also
receiving heavy airplay on XMU satellite radio channel 43. The EP is distributed by AMG/The Orchard
(212.529.9109) and is available at www.eleveneleven.com
and online stores everywhere. Their
music is also available for download via the internet on such sites as iTunes,
Napster, Amazon, Virgin, and MTVi Group.
In March, eleven eleven’s full-length record, Head, debuted at #179 on the CMJ
clutching a total of 180 radio adds and “within the first twenty seconds of the
very first track its very easy to see what makes this band great. Each song seems to sway in and out of soft
tones and melody to dynamic percussion and 80s pop guitar rifts.” (John Flores – FM Magazine)
The January tour brings eleven eleven
to 45 cities across the United States playing 81 shows in 92 days. eleven eleven uses the Planetary Group from
Boston Massachusetts for their radio campaign, tour press, Occupy the City
Touring Agency from Columbia Missouri for booking, and Universal Buzz out of
Carrboro, North Carolina for tour promo.
